In Alabama, it is a legal requirement to ensure that utility lines are properly marked before engaging in any mechanized excavation activities. Alabama 811 is responsible for receiving notifications, also known as locate requests, from individuals who intend to dig. They then, relay these requests to our affiliated utility companies, allowing them to mark their lines and enable safe excavation procedures to begin.
There is no fee to have your lines marked or to dial 811.
